According to its new assessment scheme, the Central Board of Secondary Education has divided the academic year for classes 10 and 12 students into two parts, with each term covering 50 percent of the syllabus.

The board announced its plans after crucial exams for classes 10 and 12 had to be canceled due to the unprecedented devastation caused by the second wave of the Coronavirus.

The best international school in Bangalore have oriented their students with the new changes in order to enable them to be better prepared for the Term 1 exams.

Check out these big updates to keep in mind if you are taking term 1 board exams this month:-

1. Flexible Schedule: Exams for CBSE term 1 will be administered in flexible schedules lasting 4-8 weeks

2. Pattern of the Exam: The Term 1 exam will consist of multiple choice questions. This exam will cover only 50% of the complete syllabus. Case-based reasoning MCQs may be asked.

3. Time duration: Candidates will have 1 Hour, 30 Minutes to answer all questions.

4. Sample Paper:  CBSE have released a sample paper for the board exams 2022. Term-I sample papers are available on cbse.nic.in.

5. Date sheet for the exam: The announcement of examination dates and pointers will be included in a subject-wise datasheet.

6. Practical Exams: Practicals will be conducted by international schools themselves in Term 1. Term 2 practicals, however, will be conducted by the CBSE schools based on the Covid situation and the vaccination drive.

How to Avoid the Most Common Mistakes During CBSE School Exams?

We have mentioned certain missteps students have committed while answering their question papers, leading to their downfall. In order to avoid these mistakes in their exams, candidates should learn from these examples.

1. Make Sure You Read the Question Paper Carefully

It is generally acknowledged that students rehash this error in each test because they do not utilize the 15 minutes time limit given by the board to pursue and make techniques to attempt the paper.

Some students only read the paper, but some get nervous, and they don’t use this time effectively. They usually choose some unacceptable grouping or solve some unacceptable problem.

2. Be Sure To Eat Well Before the Exam

It is completely normal to feel anxious during a test. A day before or the day of the examination, students should not skip meals. A physically fit individual can work on the questions attentively.

3. Mark your options carefully on the OMR sheet

Students should be careful when marking the options on the OMR sheet. Mark the options first with a pencil lightly, and then once you have revised the paper, mark the options with the black/blue ballpoint pen.

If a student wishes to change their answer, they can easily do so. Additional blank space or circle would be given in the OMR answer sheets.

When the candidate is revising and they realise that they have selected the wrong choice, they can strike that, select the correct circle and write the same (like 1, 2, 3 or 4 or a, b, c or d) in the additional blank space.

Tips To Pass the CBSE School Board Exams

Here are some exam hacks to help you survive this challenging board exam season. With these tips, you should be able to make it through the upcoming board exams and improve your brain’s performance.

1. Sleep Well

Make sure you sleep well and take power naps. You will hear too many stories where candidates fall asleep during the exam, so don’t push yourself, your body deserves a rest.

2. Feel Relaxed

Although your parents may not agree, it is essential that you take some time to relax after a long day of mugging and studying. You deserve the break, so take a few hours to do what you enjoy, go to the gym, do yoga, or whatever helps you relax.

3. Try Not To Rush Last-minute

Don’t panic and start cramming on the eve of the exam. You will only stress yourself out and forget what you already know.

4. Formulate a Good Strategy To Solve the Questions

It is imperative that students first devise an assessment procedure, map out the entire prospectus, and determine the weighting of different themes.

After you have finished the above investigation, you ought to make an assessment methodology that provides adequate time for self-evaluation and modification.

5. Clarify Your Doubts and Ask Questions

Clear your doubts with your teachers or friends. The students will be able to understand the concept of the chapter and move on to the next problem quickly.

6. Attitude

No matter how much you studied, as long as you have a positive attitude, it doesn’t matter. Have faith that everything will work out. Your best motivator is you, so tell yourself you did your best. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain.

So go ahead and take that board exam like you would any regular school exam, and you will be surprised at how well you do!
