Students write essays, make presentations and appear for exams along with that there are so many assignments over 2 years that it becomes difficult for IB examiners to grade so they allow school teachers to grade for them which is called an internal assessment.
External assessment
External assessments are sent directly to the IB examiner which is generally done after the final exams at the end of IB DP.
