The International Baccalaureate Diploma Program uses both internal and external assessment of a student’s performance.

Internal Assessment

In the IB diploma program, students are assessed in multiple ways over the course of 2 years. Students write essays, make presentations and appear for exams along with that there are so many assignments over 2 years that it becomes difficult for IB examiners to grade so they allow school teachers to grade for them which is called an internal assessment.

External assessment

External assessments are sent directly to the IB examiner which is generally done after the final exams at the end of IB DP.
