The Bridge Programme at GIIS is specifically designed to bridge the academic gap between the CBSE/IGCSE curricula and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP). This programme ensures that students transitioning from CBSE and IGCSE backgrounds are fully prepared to undertake the rigorous IBDP course.
Our teaching and learning approach integrates deliberate strategies and tools to enhance student learning and prepare them for DP assessments and beyond. This two-week programme focuses on acquiring essential skills aligned with the IB Learner Profile attributes, including research skills, social skills, communication, critical thinking, self-management, open-mindedness, and reflective skills.
Participants will undergo two weeks of exploration and enlightenment in the IBDP Bridge Course at Global Indian International School, Tokyo. This course helps bridge the gap between students' current knowledge and the challenges of the IBDP, offering engaging sessions and experiences designed to equip them with the necessary skills and insights for success.
Sample Activities Covered During the Bridge Programme:
- Expert Sessions for the DP Core: Participate in sessions on Theory of Knowledge (TOK), Extended Essay (EE), and Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS), led by experienced educators.
- Extensive Classroom Experiences: Engage in dynamic classroom experiences across various subjects, aiding in making informed decisions for subject selection.
- CAS Experiences: Involve yourself in the GIIS Model United Nations (MUN) and participate in a mini CAS day trip for hands-on experiential learning.
- Introduction to DP Resources: Discover essential DP resources, including Pamoja, Toddle, and Cialfo, to enhance your academic journey.
- University and Career Counselling: Gain valuable insights into university admissions and career pathways through dedicated counselling sessions.

The IBDP program is a new curriculum for the students of Batch 2019 and the Bridge Program at GIIS is designed to accommodate the academic gap between CBSE/IGCSE and IBDP.
It will also ensure that the students from CBSE and IGCSE are fully equipped to undertake the IBDP course.
