The IB diploma is a globally recognised 2-year programme awarded to students who fulfil all the requirements:-<\/p>\n

\u25cf Student must take three higher levels (HL) and three standard levels (SL) courses and exams<\/p>\n

\u25cf Complete the DP core requirements<\/p>\n

\u25cf Get the minimum score of 24 out of 45<\/p>\n

The International Baccalaureate<\/a> Diploma Programme uses both internal and external assessment of a student’s performance.<\/p>\n

Internal Assessment<\/h3>\n

In the IB diploma programme, students are assessed in multiple ways over the course of 2 years. Students write essays, make presentations and appear for exams along with that there are so many assignments over 2 years that it becomes difficult for IB examiners to grade so they allow school teachers to grade for them which is called an internal assessment.<\/p>\n

External assessment<\/h3>\n

External assessments are sent directly to the IB examiner which is generally done after the final exams at the end of IB DP.<\/p>\n

International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme Score<\/h2>\n

In IB Diploma Programme students receive grades for each subject ranging from 7 to 1.<\/p>\n

7 -Excellent performance<\/p>\n

6 – Very good performance<\/p>\n

5 – Good performance<\/p>\n

4 – Satisfactory performance<\/p>\n

3 – Mediocre performance<\/p>\n

2 – Poor performance<\/p>\n

1 – Very poor performance<\/p>\n

Diploma Score = 45<\/p>\n

(6 subject x 7 scores + 3 scores for the EE and TOK).<\/p>\n

A student\u2019s final score is made up of the combined scores of 6 subjects. The diploma is awarded to students who gain at least 24 points depending on the performance of the DP core (EE and TOK) which are individually awarded and contribute to 3 additional points towards the final diploma score.<\/p>\n

\u25cf The points remain the same for higher level and standard level subjects<\/p>\n

\u25cf CAS is not assessed but it\u2019s mandatory to complete in order to get the diploma.<\/p>\n

\u25cf A bilingual diploma is awarded to candidates who receive a minimum score of\u00a0 3 or higher in two languages from the (language and literature subject group) or from (individuals and societies) or (science subject).<\/p>\n

International Baccalaureate Diploma Facts<\/h2>\n

\u25cf Score of 45 is achieved by less than 1% of overall students.<\/p>\n

\u25cf About 5% of candidates gain more than 40 score<\/p>\n

\u25cf The average score is around 30 points.<\/p>\n

\u25cf Around 80% of students get a diploma.<\/p>\n

\u25cf About 8,500 experienced DP examiners are used worldwide by IB to ensure that student work is assessed fairly and consistently.<\/p>\n

Here is the detailed information about International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme<\/h2>\n

IB DP is a rigorous 2-year programme that results in personal and academic development and after successful completion students receive a globally recognised diploma.<\/p>\n

The IB DP programme in GIIS Tokyo is open to any student aged 16 to 19.<\/p>\n

The IBDP Programme comprises 3 core components:<\/p>\n

\u25cf Theory of Knowledge (TOK)<\/h4>\n

It is a mandatory subject that requires students to reflect on what it really means to learn, how we learn, and how we know what we know. It is gauged through an oral presentation and a 1,600-word essay to know knowledge level.<\/p>\n

\u25cf Extended Essay<\/h4>\n

The extended essay is mandatory for all students. The student has to write an extended essay that interests them from 6 core subjects in a 4,000-word based on a self-directed research project.<\/p>\n

\u25cf Creativity, Action and Service (CAS)<\/h4>\n

Student have to document a project (minimum of one month\u2019s duration) to showcase their participation in various experiences with a reasonable balance between creativity (including arts, and experiences that involve creative thinking), activity(physical action necessary to achieve a healthy lifestyle), and service (helping community)<\/p>\n
