At Global Indian International School (GIIS), our students have the opportunity to opt for International Baccalaureate (IB) from the Early years (ages 3 onwards, commencing from July 2024) to the primary years (IB Primary Years Programme) and the senior secondary years (IB Diploma Programme).

For Grades 11 and 12 high school students, the IBDP – often called a pre-university programme, nurtures students to become 21st century leaders at GIIS. Regarded worldwide as an esteemed educational programme, IBDP empowers students to develop key skills such as critical thinking, problem solving, communication, collaboration, and interpersonal competence.

For over 18 years now, GIIS students have had the opportunity to opt for IBDP, guided by our experienced and dedicated programme coordinator, and IB trained teachers. Year after year, our IBDP students have been trained not just in academic skills such as in-depth research, information literacy, subject area knowledge but also in diverse thinking skills for real world relevance. This gives IBDP students a competitive edge in university admissions and beyond.

Exceptional results and university placements

GIIS Singapore is proud to have over 104 IBDP World Toppers and Near-perfect scorers till date, with 250 students being placed in leading global universities since 2019  – including University of Oxford, Cambridge, Imperial, UCL, NUS, and more. In addition to this, GIIS students have received 121 offers (complete statistics yet to come) from the Top 50 global universities in 2024, including four (4) offers from the University of Oxford, subject to final exam outcomes and acceptance by students.

The IBDP cohort of 2023 at GIIS SMART Campus achieved exceptional results, with 38 students from the cohort achieving scores exceeding 40 points, reflecting their commitment and intellectual prowess. Additionally, two students earned the World Toppers position by achieving a perfect score of 45 out of 45, while five students secured near-perfect scores of 44 out of 45.

At GIIS, our students receive comprehensive career counselling from the team that supports them through counselling sessions, webinars, and university fairs. They are guided while shortlisting universities, and the application process, including writing essays and preparing for interviews.

Our students have got placed in leading universities in the UK, US, Singapore, Australia, Canada, India  — such as University of Oxford, University of Cambridge, London School of Economics, University College London, Georgia Institute of Technology, Imperial College, NUS, NTU, to name a few, along with premium Indian institutes like IIT Delhi, IIT Mumbai, and more.

Moreover, with GIIS alumni having a strong presence in top universities worldwide, on various occasions they have happily engaged with their school juniors, sharing admission tips and university life experience. A few examples of GIIS alumni who have previously addressed students include those from Brown University, Harvard University, UC Berkeley.
