As an international secondary school curriculum, CLSP prepares students for Cambridge IGCSE (International General Certificate of Secondary Education) as they progress through the programme.<\/p>\n<p data-w-id=\"db5b32ec-59cc-2745-5e6a-4834c6c7b58c\" data-wf-id=\"[&quot;db5b32ec-59cc-2745-5e6a-4834c6c7b58c&quot;]\" data-automation-id=\"dyn-item-blogs-description-input\">CLSP at GIIS helps students make a strong headway into the <a href=\"https:\/\/globalindianschool.org\/sg\/curricula\/igcse\">Cambridge IGCSE programme<\/a> (Grades 9-10), which is reflected in our consistent outstanding performance in the board exams over the years.<\/p>\n<p data-w-id=\"13e82194-6ee5-1f56-0ad5-10be7676d754\" data-wf-id=\"[&quot;13e82194-6ee5-1f56-0ad5-10be7676d754&quot;]\" data-automation-id=\"dyn-item-blogs-description-input\">In 2024, our IGCSE students achieved impressive results, with 100% of students who pursued the Cambridge International Certificate in Education (ICE) successfully securing the certification. Moreover, 80% of our students achieved A* and A grades and 49% students secured A* grades. The average Percentage Uniform Mark (PUM) stood at 86, and 11 students received perfect A* in all the subjects they appeared for. Additionally, in Mathematics, 98% of students obtained A* or A grades without coursework.<\/p>\n<p data-w-id=\"d2db01e9-a4f8-0c01-bcec-42441ec8af3b\" data-wf-id=\"[&quot;d2db01e9-a4f8-0c01-bcec-42441ec8af3b&quot;]\" data-automation-id=\"dyn-item-blogs-description-input\">Here in this blog, we hear from our students how <a href=\"https:\/\/globalindianschool.org\/sg\/curricula\/clsp\">CLSP<\/a> paved the way for their IGCSE success. We spoke to two of our SMART Campus students, now GIIS graduates, Angel Maria Siji and Jaidev Balaji, who secured 9A* in all nine (9) subjects they opted for.<\/p>\n<h3 data-w-id=\"37ce9c9e-dbf9-3e7f-ccf2-82bcf6b5c0f0\" data-wf-id=\"[&quot;37ce9c9e-dbf9-3e7f-ccf2-82bcf6b5c0f0&quot;]\" data-automation-id=\"dyn-item-blogs-description-input\">1. In what ways did the Cambridge Lower Secondary programme prepare you for IGCSE?<\/h3>\n<p data-w-id=\"91671a8a-9bec-382a-9312-4954eb925999\" data-wf-id=\"[&quot;91671a8a-9bec-382a-9312-4954eb925999&quot;]\" data-automation-id=\"dyn-item-blogs-description-input\"><strong data-w-id=\"2016a3ed-e13a-4666-adc1-1fceb94fa46c\" data-wf-id=\"[&quot;2016a3ed-e13a-4666-adc1-1fceb94fa46c&quot;]\" data-automation-id=\"dyn-item-blogs-description-input\">Angel<\/strong>: The transition from CBSE (Indian Central Board) to CLSP in Grade 7 took a while for me but it definitely helped smoothen my way as I progressed to IGCSE. CLSP helped us focus on the fundamental topics and theories, and the various ways they can be applied in real time. The application part of CLSP made transitioning to IGCSE a lot easier as applying theories and fundamentals is a huge part of IGCSE.<\/p>\n<p data-w-id=\"0ebfb265-df76-ecdc-6d09-a9a1d5388aad\" data-wf-id=\"[&quot;0ebfb265-df76-ecdc-6d09-a9a1d5388aad&quot;]\" data-automation-id=\"dyn-item-blogs-description-input\"><strong data-w-id=\"243ae189-29a6-dc37-2c40-77fc75c9967b\" data-wf-id=\"[&quot;243ae189-29a6-dc37-2c40-77fc75c9967b&quot;]\" data-automation-id=\"dyn-item-blogs-description-input\">Jaidev:<\/strong> I feel the CLSP provides a good segue into the IGCSE and helps you to familiarise yourself with the rudimentary concepts. It provides a strong pathway to the IGCSE syllabus, pushing one to inculcate skills like time management. I took Carnatic music and Bharatnatyam classes, and as part of the school\u2019s ECA\/ CCA activities, I also attended weekly sessions on classical dance, aerobics and hip-hop. I am also part of the school podcasting club. Juggling all of these activities along with academics can be challenging. I managed all of my extracurriculars by carefully organising my activities, making sure I get the requisite time for my studies. Creating timetables, writing memos, and prioritising work \u2013 are some of the ways I managed my time.<\/p>\n<p data-w-id=\"0d0d41ac-e0ff-6ab9-965c-f914ad6d23e2\" data-wf-id=\"[&quot;0d0d41ac-e0ff-6ab9-965c-f914ad6d23e2&quot;]\" data-automation-id=\"dyn-item-blogs-description-input\">\u200d<strong data-w-id=\"ded125c2-4369-d7e2-30fa-e417037cb90f\" data-wf-id=\"[&quot;ded125c2-4369-d7e2-30fa-e417037cb90f&quot;]\" data-automation-id=\"dyn-item-blogs-description-input\">Jaidev: <\/strong>As part of the school football and basketball teams, I won various inter-school and nationwide tournaments. I also participated and emerged victorious in Karate competitions. I was a founding member of the <a href=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/episode\/5p4jQotFCT2HhbYipJxpN7?si=QTs80ygfS-yjTNJQ29BXSA\">Hunger Warriors<\/a> initiative that has won the GSL International Impact Award twice consecutively and the Sustainability Award. The atmosphere in the school is highly conducive for learning and the support structure provided by the school has invariably helped me throughout.
