- Now, add the tens multiples. Here, 50+ 70 = 120.
- See how much 45 is less than 50. The answer is 5. And, how much less is 67 compared to 70? The answer is 3.
- Now add the deficiency numbers together. You will get 5+3 = 8.
- Subtract the deficiency number from the total of the tens multiples. You will get 120-8 = 112
- Your answer to 45+ 67 is 112.
- Check which number is the closest tens multiple for the numbers you want to add. Here, the 10s multiple closest to 45 is 50, and for 67, it is 70.

Take two random numbers and apply this trick. Let’s start with 27 X 11.
