Al Tasamuh
Held annually, Al Tasamuh, named after the Arabic word for "tolerance" is a flagship interschool event that celebrates peace, creativity, and the rich cultural tapestry of the United Arab Emirates. The event offers students an inspiring platform to express themselves through a range of thoughtfully curated competitions in music, art, theatre, and STEM-based innovation. One of its most cherished segments, Nur ul-Huda, serves as a distinctive tribute to the UAE’s National Identity Mark, encouraging students to explore and articulate the nation’s cultural heritage. Al Tasamuh fosters deep cross-cultural understanding and empowers young minds to lead with the timeless values and visionary messages of Sheikh Zayed and Mahatma Gandhi promoting compassion, unity, and social harmony in an increasingly diverse world.
GOAL (Generate. Observe. Apply. Learn.)
GOAL at GIIS Abu Dhabi challenges students to become architects of change by addressing real-world issues through innovative thinking and digital solutions. Rooted in the principles of sustainability and societal progress, the event provides a platform for students to ideate, design, and present digital prototypes, conceptual models, and creative projects that reflect their understanding of current global challenges. Each edition of GOAL is aligned with the UAE’s Year of Vision, ensuring the themes, problem statements, and categories resonate with national priorities. Through interdisciplinary categories including English, Arabic, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, and Art, students are encouraged to apply classroom learning to contemporary issues, transforming theoretical knowledge into impactful solutions.
The Big Pitch
The Big Pitch is an annual entrepreneurship-focused event designed for senior school students, aimed at helping them explore future career opportunities through sales presentations, ideation challenges, and real-world business simulations. By bridging academic curiosity with entrepreneurial action, The Big Pitch cultivates essential life and career skills that will serve students well in any path they choose. It empowers students to move beyond conventional career trajectories and explore new venues that align with their interests, values, and the needs of a changing world. The Big Pitch is all about giving students the tools, mindset, and inspiration to shape their future.
