National Service Preparation
National Service (NS) is an opportunity and national policy in Singapore that requires all male Singaporeans and second-generation permanent residents to serve a period of compulsory service in the uniformed services upon reaching the age of 18.
Starting National Service can sometimes be a daunting prospect for many students and their families. At Global Indian International School, we have a concerted effort to reach out to our students and NS-liable boys to address their concerns and prepare them for this commitment.

NS Mark (Gold) Accreditation
Global Indian International School has attained the NS Mark Gold Accreditation for supporting National Service and Total Defence through our implemented policies and human resource practices.
National Service and Total Defence form the cornerstone of Singapore’s continued stability and prosperity. The support from businesses, employers and the wider community towards National Service and Total Defence is recognised through NS Mark.
TOTAL DEFENCE AWARD RECIPIENT
Global Indian International School was the recipient of the 2020 Total Defence Awards (TDA) National Service Advocate Award for Organisations. The award is given by the Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Home Affairs, and is the highest national-level accolade that honours companies, organisations and individuals for demonstrating exceptional acts of support and exemplary advoracy effort for NS and Total Defence. Our accreditation of NS Mark (Gold) qualified us for the TDA 2020.
NS FAMILIARISATION EVENT
One of our initiatives is the annual National Service Familiarisation event in collaboration with the Ministry of Defence, Singapore (MINDEF) to help instill confidence and educate new enlistees and their parents about the NS enlistment process, training regime, and other related aspects.
