International Curricula -
GIIS Tokyo

We are the only Indian international school in Tokyo that offers a complete international curriculum for students from Grades K-12. This gives Global Indian International school students in Tokyo the option of choosing the right path for their higher studies, the flexibility to alternate their curricula, and the ability to complete their student years under international aegis.

Global Montessori Plus (GMP)

The GMP or Global Montessori Plus programme combines elements of the globally-recognised Montessori school philosophy with our own well-designed approach to early childhood education. Rooted in research and insight gleaned from years of experience, our one-of-a-kind framework empowers children to explore their natural curiosity and allows their unique personalities to emerge. The GMP programme is taught to students from Nursery to Kindergarten 2

IB Primary Years Programme (PYP)

Taught in over 109 countries around the world, the PYP curriculum is designed for Graders 1 to 5 (age 5 to 12 years) and is uniquely adaptable to state and national standards. The curriculum nurtures and develops students to be active participants in their own learning journey.

The IB Primary Years Programme is an inquiry based, trans-disciplinary framework, that encourages students to deepen their learning by developing conceptual understanding of knowledge and skills – a way to actively participate in their education as they explore local and global issues and opportunities in real-life contexts.

Cambridge Lower Secondary Programme (CLSP)

Taught in over 109 countries around the world, the PYP curriculum for lower secondary school is designed for Graders 1 to 5 (age 5 to 12 years) and is uniquely adaptable to state and national standards. The Cambridge lower secondary programme nurtures and develops students to be active participants in their own learning journey.

Cambridge IGCSE

Our two-year Cambridge IGCSE curriculum at the Higashikasai Campus is an internationally recognised programme which gives a jump start to international curricula like IBDP. We are the best IGCSE school in KL.

The Cambridge International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) is the world’s most popular international curriculum for 14 to 16 year olds. Offered in nearly 2,300 schools in over 130 countries worldwide, this internationally recognised programme is the equivalent of GCSE in the United Kingdom and the International GCE ‘O’ Level Examinations.

IB Diploma Programme (IBDP)

International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme is a curriculum pursued after the completion of Grade 10, ‘O’ Levels or equivalent, and provides balanced exposure to academics, a better understanding of the world and getting a great foundation for university life.

We are a candidate school for IBDP and pursuing authorisation as an IB world school. Facilities in the Campus will make the IB Diploma an experience of high energy and deep learning, due to excellent exposure to infrastructure that leads to excellent breadth and depth of knowledge, and the skills to succeed physically, intellectually, emotionally, and ethically. In turn making GIIS Tokyo one of the best IB schools in Japan.

Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE)

Taught in over 109 countries around the world, the PYP curriculum is designed for Graders 1 to 5 (age 5 to 12 years) and is uniquely adaptable to state and national standards. The curriculum nurtures and develops students to be active participants in their own learning journey.

Value-added programmes

Our 9GEMS™ framework promotes intellectual, social and physical development while also teaching our students the importance of ethics and discipline. A variety of hands-on activities - both academic and extracurricular - foster exploration and creativity. School and community-based initiatives encourage children to be good stewards of the environment and to serve others locally and globally. Learning through computers and mobile devices teaches children to use technology responsibly. We incorporate our value-added programme into every aspect of the curriculum to provide a balanced education that prepares children to adapt to a constantly-evolving global society.

Our comprehensive framework is designed not only to promote academics, but to prioritise communication, leadership and entrepreneurial skills that prepare children for higher education and careers. At GIIS, we provide a relevant, values-based education that equips the next generation to be innovative leaders and lifelong learners.
