Why Academic English Matters More Than Conversational English in International Education
Article Summary Conversational English helps students communicate socially, but academic English enables them to understand lessons, write effectively and succeed across subjects. In international education, students need subject-specific vocabulary, critical thinking language and structured writing skills to perform well. GIIS Tokyo’s ELPP and AEPP provide an additional English support programme

Parent Testimonials
"When I had to choose a school, we went through several online stuff and the fact that GIIS had a community of people from several spectrums was a first. But what I've appreciated has been the project mindset, the hours they give to the kids. It's crazy to do things out of the box, to think out of the box. I have my boy coming home and say, Dad, I'm working on this project. To understand also how business works, even if you're a scientist. To understand how I can be an entrepreneur even while being in high school. I think that part has brought an addition to the fact that the follow-up of the kids is not just about the academy. It's also about when you leave the school, how you're going to handle the real world. I think that is something that I really appreciate with this school. Thank you for that."
