From perseverance to performance: GIIS IBDP 2024 results overview

IBDP Results

Congratulations to the GIIS SMART Campus IBDP 2024 cohort for exemplifying academic prowess. With eight (8) World Toppers and Near-Perfect Scorers, 54 students achieved 40 and above scores. Additionally, 111 students received 35 and above scores. Srinidhi Sundar from the 2024 cohort distinguished herself as an IB World Topper by earning a perfect score of 45/45.

The provisional school average stands at 36.04%, notably higher than the global average score of 30.32.

GIIS Singapore graduates joined over 190,000 students globally who received their results for the May 2024 IB Diploma Programme session.

Upholding academic excellence

With 112 World Toppers and Near-Perfect scorers till date, our students have the support and guidance of our IB trained dedicated and experienced teachers.

In 2023, GIIS SMART Campus cohort achieved a school average of 35.9 points, surpassing the global average DP score of 30.24 points and Singapore’s average score of 35.05 points. While seven (7) students achieved perfect (45/45) and near perfect scores (44/45), 38 students achieved scores above 40 points.

In a rigorous curriculum, such as IBDP, which is popularly known as a pre-university programme, high academic standards are highly dependent on the guidance and experience of the curriculum head and teachers. At GIIS, 100% of our teachers are IB trained, 75% of our teachers have over five years of experience in teaching IBDP, and 60% of them are IB examiners.

Our teachers are readily available for our students during their two-year curriculum tenure, providing strategic guidance in various facets of the programme, which demands extensive research, critical thinking and academic rigour.

GIIS ranked among top global IB schools

We are proud to share that GIIS SMART Campus has been recognised as one of the top 100 Global IB Schools for 2023 by IB-schools.com for ‘excellence in academic achievement’.

Since 2005, GIIS has offered the IB Diploma Programme providing our students with knowledge and skills such as in-depth research, information literacy, subject area expertise and diverse thinking skills to prepare them for real-world challenges.

University guidance and placements

Due to the IBDP curriculum framework, students are said to have a competitive edge in university admissions. At GIIS, our students are prepared for admissions, and subsequent placements in global universities. They are provided a comprehensive Career Counselling guidance to help them achieve their higher education goals.

The student performances are taken into account before they are guided on shortlisting of universities for college applications with personal counselling sessions.

This comprehensive support has led GIIS students to prestigious universities worldwide, including Universities of Oxford, Cambridge, Imperial College, University College London, Cornell, Carnegie Mellon, Georgia Tech, Imperial College, UC Berkeley, NTU, NUS, as well as top Indian institutions like NIT Trichy, IIT Delhi, NIT Warangal, IIT Mumbai, and Manipal University.

GIIS alumni, who have successfully transitioned to these top universities, often engage with current students, sharing experiences and insights.

Since 2019, 250 GIIS students have been placed in Top 20 universities, including 12 receiving offers from the University of Oxford. In 2024, GIIS students have received 121 offers from the Top 50 Global Universities (as per 2023 QS World Ranking).

Understanding Your Cambridge IGCSE Results: A Complete Guide to Grades, Grading Scales and What Your Results Mean

Mid-Year & Transfer Admissions: Moving Your Child to a Singapore International School (2026)

Relocating to Singapore rarely happens on a school's neat academic calendar. A posting can start in June, a lease can begin in September, a visa can clear in November—and somewhere in between, a child still needs a classroom, a timetable and a group of friends. This is the reality behind expat school admissions mid year in Singapore and it's a far more common situation than most parents expect.
