GIIS Tokyo 20-Year Celebration Scholarship (Merit & Means)

To mark this milestone and to make world-class international education more accessible for families in Japan, GIIS Tokyo proudly offers the 20-Year Celebration Scholarship.

This scholarship follows a clear and transparent merit-cum-means based selection process, supporting deserving students from diverse academic and financial backgrounds. It is applicable to new admissions for Grades 1 to 9 only.

Scholarship Overview

The GIIS Tokyo 20-Year Celebration Scholarship is designed to recognise both academic potential and financial need.

Merit-Based Scholarship (GIIS20 Scholar Challenge)

Students who achieve a minimum of 70% in the GIIS Tokyo aptitude test will qualify for a 10% tuition fee waiver on tuition fees under the Merit Criteria. The assessment is concept-based and evaluates aptitude rather than rote learning.

Means-Based Scholarship
Eligible families may apply directly under the Means-Based Scholarship, or be considered under the Means Criteria if they do not qualify through the Merit pathway. Families who meet the eligibility requirements may receive up to 20% tuition fee waiver, subject to submission and verification of income documents. Income proof is mandatory for all means-based scholarship applications. Admissions under the Means category will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis.

This two-pathway approach ensures fair access to quality education by supporting both academic excellence and genuine financial need.

Admissions are open to residents of Japan and no Visa or boarding facility is provided
