Our academic year follows two tracks: April to March for GMP, CBSE, IB PYP, Cambridge Lower Secondary, and IGCSE; and July to June for the IB Diploma Programme (IBDP). This structure aligns with both Indian and international calendars, offering flexibility for families who may relocate.
For Kindergarten, we offer our enhanced Montessori-based programme, GMP (Global Montessori Plus), which blends the Montessori method with modern, inquiry-led learning.
From Grade 1 onward, families can choose between two pathways:

GIIS Tokyo welcomes students of all nationalities from Nursery through Grade 12. Families can apply at any time of the year, and admissions are offered based on seat availability. We support learners from diverse academic backgrounds and provide smooth transitions into our GMP, IB, Cambridge, and CBSE pathways.
Our campuses offer digitised classrooms and modern, well-equipped facilities including science and ICT labs, libraries, music and art studios, robotics rooms, an auditorium, and safe play spaces for Nursery learners. We also provide school transport services and technology-enabled learning environments to support student growth.
GIIS Japan has a diverse and multicultural student community, bringing together learners from many nationalities and backgrounds. The student population includes families from India, Japan, China, Korea, Russia, and the Philippines, among others, creating a globally inclusive learning environment.
GIIS Japan maintains a student–teacher ratio of approximately 1:14 to ensure personaliSed attention and effective learning. In the Kindergarten section, each class has one teacher and one support staff member, while in the higher grades, students are guided by a class teacher along with subject specialist teachers.
Students at GIIS Japan are allowed to carry mobile phones, but they must submit them to their teacher at the start of the school day and collect them at the end of the day.
