â—Ź Global Future Ready Merit scholarship Students who are citizens of Malaysia and those with work visas can apply for the scholarship. Students from grades 9 to 11 on their residence campus are also eligible, making it ideal if you’re looking for scholarships for international students. Grades open for this scholarship include the IGCSE or CBSE grade 9th and 10th and students in Cambridge A-levels grade 11th and 12th. The grant waives as much as 75 percent of the tuition fee.

● Global Citizenship scholarship. Students who want to pursue an education at a Global Scholarship Foundation campus overseas should apply for this scholarship. Students from ASEAN countries such as Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, Indonesia, Cambodia, Myanmar, Singapore, and South Asia like Sri Lanka and Bangladesh are welcome to apply. Tunku Abdul Rahman scholarshipship The scholarship aims at providing financial support to deserving students who are residents of Malaysia. It’s also open to current and new students of the Global Indian International School, available to all grades. The annual income of the family impacts the amount of financial assistance that the student will get.

Can I Apply to All Scholarships ?

No, the students are encouraged to apply to only one scholarship programme from any of the ones mentioned above. That means you’ll need to know which grants are a good match for you. Take the time to go over each of them to find out which one gives you better chances of getting the financial support you need. However, since applying to more than one increases your chances of getting a grant, you might want to consider options outside the school. That way, you won’t have to put all your eggs in one basket.

‍

When Should I Start Applying?

Apply as soon as you think you’re capable of getting one. There are plenty of options, so that means you wouldn’t have to worry about ending up with a limited range of choices. When you check out the different types of scholarship programmes, take note of the eligibility requirements. The good thing is that these scholarships are available for every year that you’re in school. That means that if you don’t get accepted for the first programme, don’t worry. You can always try again. You have an entire year to prepare for the next one.

‍

How Do I Improve My Chances?

First off, don’t use the same essay. Assess your application kit. Do you notice portions where you could have provided a better answer? Did you address the essay question directly? Sometimes, it takes a while before we see the mistakes in our work. You’ll want to consider that before you start working on another application. Evaluate your old kit first. Figure out why you got rejected and then work on improving those things.

‍

What Should I Know Before Applying for a Scholarship?

‍

For applications, here are a few essential suggestions that can make your life easier. Follow them and see how well they work for you.

â—Ź Read the form first – Don’t start answering right off the bat. You’re not being rushed. Instead, study the questions. Some of them might have identical answers for you. Which question will allow you to expound on a given anecdote or story that could highlight qualities like leadership skills, entrepreneurship skills, compassion, empathy, and more? Plan your answers. That will help you make the most impact with your essay.

â—Ź Ask for help – Reach out to friends, a family member, or friend. Ask them to read what you’ve written on the form. Do they have any suggestions to improve the content? Which parts had the most emotional impact or power for them? Did it make them cry? What factors could use a revision?

â—Ź Create a timeline It’s not easy to keep track of all the scholarship programmes’ deadlines on your list. But a spreadsheet or timeline that contains all the essential dates for the grants will help you stay on top of things. Make sure you create your schedule, one with personal deadlines which—ideally—should be a bit earlier than the programme deadlines. That way, you’ll have time to fix anything or deal with issues in case they come up.

â—Ź Don’t procrastinate- It’s easy to think that you’ve got plenty of time, especially if the programme’s deadline is a few months ahead. But time flies. One minute, you’ve still got months to go and the next, you only have a few weeks. Don’t let that happen. Start working on the application as soon as you can.

‍

Do take time to understand the tenure of the scholarship, and the requirements that a student is expected to meet to keep the scholarship.

‍

What Mistakes Should I Avoid?

â—Ź Missing the deadline. There’s nothing like a late submission to kill any chances you have of getting that grant. Even if you’re only late by an hour or a day, programme administrators are strict. They won’t let you off the hook.

â—Ź Not proofreading the essay. Minor mistakes in grammar and spelling might not be critical in the grand scheme of things, but they tend to create the impression that you’re careless. If you want to put your best foot forward, proofread that essay before you send your application.

â—Ź Using the same essay. If you’ve been applying to a lot of scholarships, customize your essay to suit the questions. Using the same one, with the same tired writing, could be why they’re skipping over your essay. Be passionate and engaged if you want the administrators to pick you.
