The Significance of a Good Preschool in a Child’s Life

Table of Contents

Before we talk about the significance of the Institution known as preschool (playschool) , let us understand what a preschool comprises and what its objective is.

Preschool is characterized as an institution consistently attended by the child outside their own home to take an interest in instructive exercises, prior to the beginning of school (until the age of 5). These include formal focus based schools for levels such as nursery and other more casual settings like playgroups, which additionally give kids the freedom to associate with fellow kindergartners . It opens a child’s horizons to have experiences that turn into learning encounters, at an early age.

In today’s day and age, it is only prudent for parents to want their young children to begin early in terms of education and life skills. Most of this starts at home when children are born and they learn to grasp the essential knowledge of how things work while interacting with parents and siblings,  till the time they are ready to take their first steps to go to school. Preparations are made at an early age by parents and teachers alike to groom children  from toddlers into responsible human beings.

The Institution of preschool teaches them everything from cognitive to motor skills and the basics required to maneuver through society.

Once a child turns 3 and is capable of comprehending activities taking place around them, parents take preschool into consideration. Pre-school is no longer considered as only a stepping stone to higher forms of education. The institution is now considered as important as Primary or Secondary School.

It is over the years that our system of education in India has come to a realisation that preschool serves as a mould for future students and citizens of promise. We have come to learn that simple values must be inoculated at an early age to ensure a sense of discipline in each child. The way preschool affects your child’s behaviour is mentioned below.

‍

The effects of pre-school on society

Educating our youth is at the center of what is known as the subject of essential formative science. The field quite possibly is in possession of  the most energetic spaces of logical movement as far as the associations among logical advances, program planning and educational strategy is concerned . The science of preschool and its effects on society comprise of studies based on situations that  take place in a preschool setup.

And it also involves results found from classroom cooperation and behavioural patterns. These rules have constantly been a major  factor across settings and  time in regards to effects of a preschool on society.  Family foundations also play a major role in effect on how these factors vary from family to family and institution to institution.

‍

The role of preschool

Preschool  pushes your children to learn skills of conversation, etiquette and relationship building with their peers. The institution also teaches a child how to distinguish between the different rules of conduct and prepares them for a vast sea of exposure in terms of higher levels of education. Primary schools, Secondary schools and Universities are part of this hierarchy.

Choosing schools can be quite terrifying for new parents everywhere in the world because what you choose is eventually a lifelong educational process for your child in terms of school, college and beyond. It is really a reverse domino effect where instead of collapsing against each other one educational choice supports the other in the longer run.

Here, we come to the choice of the selection of an international school educational system as opposed to a domestic one which could also be defined as or categorized as a private or public education.

Education systems around the world are vastly different. For example, in India there are different boards for education among schools. Once you reach higher secondary school, almost every state has a different board, while some follow state boards, others pursue the standardized education boards like ICSE, CBSE, ISC etc…

While there is absolutely nothing wrong with domestic education, the reason to bring up higher secondary boards here is to establish the fact that students are educated and groomed from being a preschooler to a senior via a particular standard of education and eventually this sets the tone for their further progress in life.

Therefore, having an education is an essential integral part of our lives but we should also be aware of the quality of the education we impart to our children. It is good to be informed about different aspects of education and its effects on a student’s success in his/her formative years.

The prevalence of International Schools in Today’s World

International schools and their system of education around the world from preschool to senior school is based on a system which is globally diverse yet centric. International schools from their advent have been established to expand the diversity of students culturally. This ensures that students are not limited to only one given standard but are exposed to situations that provide education that is worldly. This worldly form of education will ensure spiritual awareness and social responsibility in a child.

Examples of International curriculums that many Indians are being enrolled into as well, would be the IB Curriculum and the curriculum of Cambridge International Examinations.

These International Curriculums bring together students from vastly diverse backgrounds exposing them to cultures, traditions and vast pockets of knowledge unknown to them previously.  The presence of International Schools as opposed to being educated in a domestic system of education  is in modern times paving the way for cross-cultural human integration and providing  a vast sea of opportunities for every Individual. This can be through the extensive tie-ups International Schools have with Top Universities and Organizations that provide excellent career paths.

International education also lays more stress on extracurricular and cocurricular activities that are important to ensure students  grow in multiple avenues and not only through an academic education.

As an example, an International School would encourage students to partake and learn music , art and Sports. The innumerable career opportunities in the world are not only academically merit-based. International schools promote the Idea of continuous learning and finding one’s niche. Here students learn to think for themselves.

The brain as we know is an undiscovered mystery and is continuously imbibing information and knowledge from a number of avenues depending on what one is exposed to.  Who knows what the right system and method of education may unfold for an individual who may otherwise be an untapped resource.

In India, an  extensive amount of resources  have been poured into the  infrastructure and  organization of International Schooling to make sure these institutions are best suited to take responsibility for their students’ futures.

This school has its roots in 7 countries over the world namely Singapore, Malaysia, Japan, Thailand, United Arab Emirates, Vietnam and India totalling 21 campuses in all.
